Interior & Exterior Painting in Loganville

Bedrooms, stairwells, cabinets and exterior trim painted after the slow work is done: holes filled, gloss scuffed, stains sealed and bare wood primed.

Paint Is Mostly Preparation

A paint job looks good for about as long as the prep under it holds. Washing, patching, caulking and priming take more hours than the color itself, and those hours keep paint from lifting at the edges or showing every patch.

We paint as a standalone job, and we also paint at the tail end of our larger remodels. The prep doesn't change.

What Gets Painted

  • Walls and ceilings

Rooms, halls and stairwells. Popped nails get reset, hairline cracks get taped and stains get a sealing primer before any color touches the wall.

  • Trim, doors and cabinets

Baseboard, casing and doors sanded and caulked; cabinet doors taken down, painted on a flat surface and rehung with their hinges adjusted.

  • The outside of the house

Wood trim, shutters, front doors and porch posts. Loose paint is scraped, bare spots are primed and sanded smooth, and nearby plantings get drop cloths.

Prep, Sheen and Weather

  • Older paint and lead

In a house built before 1978, old layers of paint may contain lead. That gets checked before anyone sands or scrapes, and if lead is present, the prep follows lead-safe work practices.

  • Sheen by surface

The shinier the paint, the easier it is to wash and the more it shows a wavy wall. We'll suggest a sheen for each surface based on how it gets used.

  • Outdoor conditions

Exterior paint won't bond well to wet wood or cure right in a cold snap. We watch the forecast and move outside days when needed, so a deadline never forces a bad coat.

Asked About Painting

Will one coat be enough?

Rarely. Two coats over a primed or previously painted surface is the norm. A dramatic color change, fresh patches or bare drywall may call for primer first, which the estimate spells out.

Should we paint before or after other remodeling work?

After. Paint is one of the last steps, because tile setting, cabinet installs and trim work all scuff walls. If painting is part of a bigger job, we schedule it near the end.
